Barnaby takes a breath, deep, trying to be as patient with Kotetsu as possible. The childish obstinance is not what he's accustomed to from the other man. Not that Kotetsu has never shown to be capable of it. Simply that Barnaby hasn't seen him quite this closed off ... in some time. Maybe he needs to be alone in the apartment. Maybe he needs the time off.
Barnaby could go to the library alone. He could run all of these errands alone. But he doesn't want to.
He slips the pills and the water back onto the bedside table, before lowering himself onto the edge of the bed, back to kotetsu and feet crossed gently at the ankle on the ground below. His fingers shift in the new sheets, making crisp noises in the quiet apartment.
